Many threats effect the alpine biome, not only threats posed by humans, but also natural factors negatively effect the alpine biome. For example climate change is increasing temperatures which changes the icy and cold environment that the animals and plants are adapted to. Also there is occasional acid rain because of pollution in the atmosphere, when it rains this acid goes into the snow and lakes, polluting them, so that they need to be cleaned. Some human threats are the ski industry that has been developing on many of these mountains, destroying habitats, and overhunting of the animals. Many animals like the chinchilla, snow leopard, and andean condor are endangered due to overhunting and construction in their natural habitats because hunting laws were created fairly recently in these areas, although some poachers still break these laws today.
